It Removes Cations like iron, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium, and anions like chloride, carbonate, sulfate, bicarbonate, and nitrate with resin exchange of hydrogen (H+), and hydroxide (OH-), forming pure High quality water.

Over time Demineralization Resins get exhaust which can be regenerated through adding Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), and the Caustic Soda (NaOH). It allows the resins to be reused multiple time.

Demineralisation Process

Two-Bed Demineralization Water System

A two-bed DM water System also known as dual bed DM System uses cation and anion exchange columns to remove mineral salts. Strong acid cation (SAC) resin exchanges positive ions with hydrogen (H+), followed by strong base anion (SBA) resin exchanging negative ions with hydroxide (OH–). Resulting in nearly neutral pH and low TDS water.

Mixed-Bed Demineralization Water System

Mixed-Bed ion exchange systems are employed. These systems contain a mixture of cation and anion resins within a single column, allowing cation and anion exchanges to occur simultaneously at the same time. Mixed-Bed ion exchange system reduces the potential for salt leakage and produces water with very low total dissolved solids (TDS) and nearly neutral pH.

DM water plant are integrated with other water treatment systems such reverse osmosis systems, ultrafiltration units, and Edi systems to generate Highly Pure Water (HPW) with <5 µmhos/cm conductivity.
